Maracuya | Handweaved Bags (Gold 6-Pointed Star Crossbody)
Each bag is made by a Wayuu Indigenous woman in Guajira, north of Colombia, between the desert, sandy beaches, and the turquoise sea.
It takes an artisan 28-hour days to make a bag, and four to five days to elaborate a clutch bag; it is very intricate and delicate work that results in each unique product.
Wayuu Women learn this craft from the age of 12. As they weave the bags, they weave their dreams, savoir-faire, traditions, heritage, and their hopes of a better future.
When you purchase one of these bags, you are not only buying a unique piece of art. You are helping Wayuu indigenous women towards financial independence, contributing to the survival of this ancient craft, as it can be transferred to the next generation.
